 Japanther are in L.A. recording the follow up to 2010's epic Rock n Roll Ice Cream. The album will be released through a few different labels, Menlo Park being one of them.  In the meantime catch Japanther on tour, and we'll update you soon, when we have a bit more to tell you. Icky Boyfriends -

Following last years' re-union show in San Francisco, Icky Boyfriends are once again to take the stage, this time in Memphis, TN at the excellent Goner Festival which celebrates the primitive.  The festival takes place in September, and you can find more info here   http://www.goner-records.com/gonerfest/

 When looking on the goner fest site, I was also reminded of this review quote, and I totally agree, so I'm cutting and pasting it....
 
 “There's a fine, very permeable line between unlistenable and brilliant. Icky Boyfriends, a primitive, late-1980s/early 1990s noise rock trio out of San Francisco, were both. They pulled it off in much the same way that the Shaggs and Half Japanese did -- not alternately, not hitting highs and lows, but by achieving both states simultaneously. It's hard to tell whether bands like this are geniuses or idiots, but there is no possibility that they are mediocre.” - Splendid Magazine
